Life Lately

Life lately has been dedicated to being thankful. Thankful for the patience I have been blessed with because I am not very patient. Thankful for friends who bring laughter. Thankful for a kind and caring boyfriend who puts up with me through good times and bad. Thankful for a supportive and loving family. I am taking Sundays as it should be taken: a day of worship. I am in love with the missions and love going to mass there because it's just absolutely beautiful.

Life lately has also been dedicated to trying new things, understanding that it is okay to treat yourself and picking up a new book (open to suggestions). Upcoming events that will make life even more interesting:

Josh Abbott Band Concert
Six Flags Event
JAB Fest (Hopefully)
Randy Rogers Band Concert
Las Vegas Trip

Fall always brings fun things to do. I'm excited!

Current Make Up Favorites

 photo currentmakeupfavorites_zps39590cc9.png

Every girl has their must have make up essentials. Lately, I have been obsessed with buying make up and trying different make up brands. I swear, the employees at Sephora probably already know me by name because I've been shopping there so much lately. But somehow I always seem to go back to these make up favorites:

NARS Foundation
Smashbox Primer
Mac Blush
Urban Decay Primer
Urban Decay NAKED Basics Palette
Bare Minerals Concealer
Maybelline Lipstick
Benefit Mascara

These are my top favorites. As for life, it has been crazy busy lately juggling school and work. It's been tough getting back in that school grind but it keeps me busy, so I love it. The reason it has been ten times harder this past week is because I had eye surgery. (Hold up: I'm about to get real person right here. Kind of.) For the past two years I have been struggling with chalazions. It's a pain and it's not pretty. These past few months I feel like I got the worst of it. I'm talking chalazions on both eyes, two on just one eye. It's not fun at all. After trying every home remedy and going to several opthamologists, I finally found an opthamologist that I truly felt comfortable with and confident that she was going to help me get rid of the chalazions. (Finally, after a few hundred bucks later thanks to the numerous doctor visits and prescriptions.) I had my eye procedure last Monday and it's looking a lot better. It was painful but I am glad it's finally getting taken care of. I cannot wait for it to heal 100%.

That's pretty much been my life lately: chalazion struggles, school and work. I did go a little shopping crazy this past weekend (what's new?) Hope everybody is having a happy Sunday! And happy Fall! It's finally starting to feel nice and cool outside. I am so excited!

PS: Have you noticed how much cleaner the blog is looking? Big thanks to Aubrey from The Kinch Life. She is seriously one of the sweetest and most talented designers I know. I am pretty much obsessed with her blog. :)

Fall Outfits, Thanks To Pinterest

I don't know about y'all but I am ready for Fall. I am dying to start putting together some cute Fall outfits, take out those leather riding boots and bundle up in a scarf with a sweet hot chocolate in my hand. At least this week's weather is going to be in the low 90s. We are slowly, crawling, creeping into Fall. I'm starting to get impatient. In the meantime, I've been relying on Pinterest to keep me excited for Fall. It helps but then at the same time it makes it worse. Here are a few Pinterest favorites.

Bar Hoppin No More

A quick little post to tell you about my bar hoppin adventures, a spontaneous trip in the works and grad school.

(Please disregard the oily face. Apparently some places do not believe in air conditioning.)

Have you ever felt like you could concur the world on a Friday night? That is exactly how I felt last Friday. I had a sudden burst of energy Friday afternoon. (Despite my sudden panic attack at the doctor's office earlier that afternoon thanks to my fear of needles near my eyes. One word: chalazions.) But the day quickly turned around when I decided to accept the invitation to happy hour with two good friends. (Otherwise known as, the spontaneous vacation crew.) I had a full tank of gas in my car and a long work week so I was willing to make the drive across town for a few drinks which quickly led to a "Let's go out tonight and try a new bar." Five hours later, we are bar hoppin downtown. From a nice, chill bar with good music and fancy/expensive, strong drinks to a bar crowded with sweaty pub runners to a downtown bar with old school music and karaoke, the night turned out to be fun. Except, the next morning I checked my bank account and instantly regretting going for the fancy/expensive drink. (Note to self: when you are in debt thanks to student loans, you cannot afford to buy fancy/expensive drinks. I mean, you can but you probably shouldn't. It adds up!)

Yeezus tour dates have been announced! And instead of going to a concert in the same state that I live in, my friends decided it would be best to attend Kanye West's concert in none other than Las Vegas. (Yes, I just complained about buying expensive drinks earlier but I don't know how to say no to Vegas.) Vegas Trip Numero Dos is in works.

As for grad school: I am loving having the opportunity to absorb all this new information but at the same time, I have been out of school for nearly two years and I was not prepared for all the reading. I still love it though. So, that pretty much explains why there is a lack of blog posts. But I have not forgotten about the blog. A blog clean up is in the works and I'm so excited to soon reveal who I've been working with! :)

Texas Should Not Be Allowed To Have Starbucks PSL

Let's start by saying a big welcome to Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Latte in Texas 105 degree weather. I'm all for Fall, but it's a little too early to be selling PSL when it's still burning hot outside. Starbucks in Texas should not be allowed to serve PSL until at least October.

In other news,

Hope everybody had a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend. I am thankful to have survived mine. It was a jam packed, wild and crazy weekend thanks to my sorority pledge sister being in town.

It started Friday night, chilling at a new bar and then making our way to our favorite/not so favorite bar. Surprisingly, it turned out pretty good. Everybody survived. Nobody dropped their phone in the toilet. no shots were taken. Decent photos were taken.

^ That was a flashback of high school football games.

We enjoyed a day of shopping and ending the night with a delicious BBQ with a few sorority sisters and friends. It felt like we were reliving college with the big reunion. It was pretty weird but awesome at the same time.

I have no words for Sunday. No, really. It was too much for me but we did get to enjoy the pool in the Texas heat. Will we ever learn our lessons of the dangers of Budlight Lime-a-ritas? I'll leave it at that. We're not allowed to buy those anymore, ever. Out of the 40 photos I took on Sunday, only these 3 made the cut.

Hope y'alls Labor Day weekend was as eventful as mine, full of crazy memories. :)
