Friday Favorites 006

01. Aldo Black Bag. I am in love with this Aldo bag. I spotted it as soon as I walked into the store and instantly fell in love. There's a larger version too but I went for the small one because I have one too many big bags. Plus, this one is perfect for when going out on a dinner date.

02. Starbucks Iced Vanilla Macchiato. It is my new favorite Starbucks drink. Well, second favorite. My number one is still the Caramel Macchiato but this new one is great. I think I threw off the Starbucks guy the other day when I didn't go with my usual and ordered this new drink.

03. Denim Vest. While in NOLA, I went shopping at H&M and finally found a denim vest that fits perfectly. I have been on the search for a denim vest since pretty much last Spring. Thank you, H&M. I cannot wait to pair it up with all these cute Spring outfits.

04. Flowerbomb Perfume. One of my friends showed me this perfume and I have been dying to get my hands on it. I bought the roll on perfume because the actually bottle is too expensive. But I'm thinking I might splurge on it because I need a Spring perfume. Any other suggestions for Spring perfumes?

05. Today I Choose Joy. I've seen this quote floating around Pinterest and it's pretty much my every day quote. No matter how stressed I may be or overwhelmed, I choose to live each day with a positive attitude and with pure joy. It's the only way to live in order to truly enjoy life. :)

Happy Friday!

Insta Lately 002

Happy Thursday! Life according to Instagram has been a little slow, mainly because I have been busy catching up on sleep and school work since my trip to NOLA. I feel like I have been out of town every single weekend, which I love but it's exhausting. I hardly ever take naps (well, in undergrad I took a lot of naps but that was then) but last Friday, I kid you not, as soon as I got home from work I knocked out. I told J I was going to take a little baby nap before we went to the movies or something but next thing I know, it's 9:30PM. My body was dead beat. I needed a weekend of staying in and relaxing because it's almost the end of March (Baby Bake weekend!) and almost April (Fiesta month and birthday month! And...preparing for finals) so I am going to need every ounce of energy. Here a little insta lately in photos.

According to Instagram, I...
+ tried the Boiler House for the first time with my sister. It was a little lunch date.
+ went to Austin, TX (again), this time with the boyfriend and sister.
+ had a blast in NOLA and was loving my little masquerade mask.
+ taking numerous Snapchat photos for my stories to capture our NOLA adventures.
+ took my sister to her first country music concert. (She's officially a fan of country music!)
+ posted late NOLA photos. Roomie love!
+ missed NOLA that I posted more photos. We clearly had a successful first night on Bourbon.
+ enjoyed a date night with this handsome boy.
+ needed a drink on a weeknight after night class. Thankfully the boyfriend understands.

I survived NOLA.

I'm back from NOLA! Okay, I've been back for a week but I've been catching up on some much needed sleep and randomly decided to do some Spring cleaning.

NOLA was great.  It was a quick trip. I wish we could've stayed longer but we all had work to go back home to. We did as much as we could do. We ate New Orleans food, we walked around the French Quarter, listened to great street music, partied on Bourbon Street, went to a tarot card reader, visited the Lafayette Cemetery, and ate some more New Orleans food. I'm surprise I didn't explode. Next time, with more time, I hope to go on plantation tours, ghost tours, swamp tours, every tour! I did see some hotels still had the waterlines from Hurricane Katrina, and wow! That alone just blew my mind. The thought that the entire city was under water is just incredibly shocking. Overall, the trip was great! We had a lot of fun. Here's a recap and a few photos.

SATURDAY
We left early Saturday and arrived to New Orleans late Saturday afternoon. We dropped off our luggage at the hotel and headed straight to Bourbon Street to eat first. I'm not going to lie, walking up to Bourbon Street was overwhelming. In a good way. It was like BOOM! Welcome to Bourbon Street. We ate, one of our sorority sisters who now lives in Baton Rouge met up with us, and then we hit Bourbon Street - hard! Ok, not too hard. We ran into a few friends from school. (I'm pretty sure everybody and their mom was in NOLA that weekend.) We actually ended our night pretty early. Like 1:30AM early. We're old. We can't hang.

SUNDAY
I feel like Sunday was a blur, and not because of alcohol. We just did a lot. We had breakfast/lunch, tried fried tomatoes for the first time, shopped around, walked around the French Quarter (a lot), found an H&M and spent an hour (and too much money) there, went to Café Du Monde and had beignets for the first time. NCIS was filming at Café Du Monde. We went back to the hotel to "rest for 5 minutes and change" which quickly turned into an hour nap. We visited the Lafayette Cemetery and went back to Bourbon Street to shop souvenirs and have one drink. We're lame.

MONDAY
We checked out. We had breakfast…somewhere. I'm horrible at remembering places or restaurant names. But the food was good and we had more beignets. We did some last minute souvenir shopping and hit the road. I'm telling you, it was a quick trip. But it was fun. :)

NOLA, I will return soon. I promise. :)

Because you can't go wrong with cheetah print

BECAUSE YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH CHEETAH PRINT. We all have our fashion favorites. For me, it happens to be scarves. I literally have a bin full of scarves! That's why Fall is my favorite season. With Spring being just weeks away, I'm sad to have to say goodbye to my lovely scarves. They are so easy to pair with a plain tee and a cardigan. So, I decided to share a little outfit blog post with you guys today. If (and when) I share outfit blog posts, they're mostly work outfits. Story of my life. I have no "going out" clothes because I pretty much have no social life outside of work and school, and when I do have some social life, I have the hardest time putting together an outfit. That's why I go to Pinterest for inspiration.

Now, here's my attempt at being a "fashion blogger." Don't get used to it. I have a boring and simple style. Enjoy!

W E A R I N G:

Scarf: H&M
Cardigan: Little Sister's Closet*
Top: H&M
Pants: Gap
Belt: Betsey Johnson
Shoes: Target

*My sister and I raid each other's closet all the time. It's funny because she will Snap Chat me a photo of her outfit and say "BTW, I'm borrowing this, this and this." And then her friends will ask her where she got certain items and she just says um, my sister's closet. So, that's become our little thing now. Whereas I just take her clothes. We need to just merge our closets into one big closet. Oh, the joy of having a sibling! :)

Happy Saturday!

Friday Favorites // 005

It's finally Friday! This has been the longest week of my life. It was midterms week, so there was a lot of studying. And then there was work, which, I mean. That was work, with meetings and whatnot. But the week is finally over and the day is finally here! Tomorrow I leave to New Orleans. It will be my first time ever. I am so excited. I haven't even look up things to do in New Orleans or anything. I haven't even packed! Yeah, I am a huge procrastinator. BUT I did make time for Friday Favorites!
