WALT DISNEY WORLD WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TRIP

For our one year wedding anniversary, we decided to celebrate it by spending a week at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. We wanted to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary a few weeks early for two reasons: (1) January/February are the least busiest months of the year at WDW and (2) Joseph has graduate school and we didn’t want him to miss any midterm exams.

For the weeks leading up to the trip, I spent my evenings planning every single detail of the trip. What parks to visit, what rides I wanted to reserve a Fast Pass for, the Quick Service restaurants I wanted us to checked, to even what to eat at those Quick Service restaurants, mainly because I needed to know what gluten free options were available. After reading so many Disney websites and watching YouTube videos from frequent WDW visitors, I had our weeklong trip down!

Port Orleans – Riverside

It was our first time staying on resort so I knew I had to do a lot of research when deciding which resort would be the best fit for us and within our budget. I could not be happier with Port Orleans – Riverside. The Royal Room made me feel like a princess. (Sorry, hubs.) The details in the room décor were amazing and the river view was stunning. The resort offered bus transportation to and from the parks, and riverboat transportation to and from Disney Springs.

Magic Kingdom (twice)
Hollywood Studios
Epcot

We knew we would need more than one day for Magic Kingdom. The day of arrival, we checked in to our room and headed straight to Magic Kingdom with only two hours of sleep. We hit the popular rides on our first day – Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight and Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid.

On the second day, we went to Hollywood Studios. This day I planned it around my husband’s likings, Star Wars. The entire day was spent watching all the Star Wars shows, meeting the Star Wars characters, and riding the Star Wars rides. The only non-Star Wars ride we rode was the Tower of Terror because that one is a MUST.

On the third day, we went back to Magic Kingdom. This day was basically all Beauty and the Beast related, with also hitting up the remainder of the rides we had left to go on. I also made dinner reservations at the Be Our Guest restaurant for an early one-year wedding anniversary dinner celebration. We were seated at the West Wing. Everything about the Be Our Guest restaurant was absolutely amazing. As soon as we walked in, we were both in awe at all the details to the movie. I highly recommend it!

On the fourth day, we went to Epcot. We went around the world multiple times, tried as many food and drinks as we could in each country and ended up leaving before the Illuminations show.

Overall, we enjoyed absolutely everything about the parks we visited. One thing I would change for next time: add the park hopper.

I'm back to blogging!

It’s been a year and a half since I last blogged. I stepped away from blogging to enjoy planning my wedding and then to enjoy life as a newlywed. But, now I’m back! (Thanks, little, for giving me that little push.)

I’m keeping the old blog name and sticking to keeping it as a lifestyle blog to share my adventures with my husband and life as a newlywed.

What has happened since June 2015?
  • I finished graduate school and now have a master’s degree.
  • I married my best friend! February 27, 2016 is now the best day of my life.
  • Husband and I went on our first cruise for our honeymoon to Belize, Roatán and Cozumel.
  • Husband and I moved in together for the first time into an apartment.
  • Husband started graduate school for his MBA.
  • We started house hunting.
  • I got in my first and second car accident. The second one led to a totaled car.
  • I bought a new car.
  • We went to Walt Disney World to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary early!
